Key Words: Believe, Love, Life, Truth, Spirit, Kingdom and Witness

John (the one Jesus loved) focuses on our life in Jesus. John uses more metaphors for Jesus then the other gospels.

Jesus is the Truth

Jesus is the Way

Jesus is the Life

Jesus is the Door

Jesus is the Good Shepherd

Jesus is the Living Water

Jesus is the Lamb of God

Jesus is the Word Jesus is the Bread

Jesus is the Father’s will in Flesh

Jesus is the Resurrection and the Life

The Gospel of John begins with the eternal reality of the Jesus (the Word). Jesus was at the beginning when all things were made (John 1).

The Gospel of John is what we would consider a general gospel, not written to any specific group like the Gospel of Matthew that was written to the Jews. John’s gospel is evangelist, to those who would read and believe that Jesus is the Christ the Son of the living God.

Key Verses: John 1:2, John 2:15, John 3:16, John 4:34, John 12:16, John 14:27, John 15:13-15, John 16:22-24
